LVAD Effectiveness
LVADs are most effective when implanted
before End-Stage Heart Failure
Following implant and recovery, many patients improve to the point where symptoms are reduced to stage one or two. These patients are able to return to the lifestyle they enjoyed before advanced heart failure. A small percentage of patients will recover to a level that allows for the LVAD to be removed or simply turned off.
